I've met Jerome before in Mondello Park, what can i say about him only what a true gentleman he is. He is manager of the French Drift Championship and The French Drift Academy.

Sarah: So, introduce yourself to Drivetribe.

Jerome: Hi, my name is Jerome Vassia, i am a french driver, I also organize the French Drift Championship and the French Drift Academy .

Sarah: What age were you when you first got behind the wheel?

Jerome: I was 5 years old and it was a motocross

Sarah: What was the next step for you after that?

Jerome: I stopped MX at 14 after a big crash, go kart was my new passion, then i used to drive on french tracks

Sarah: What was your first 'legal' set of wheels?

Jerome: It was a Lotus SAMBA, really light FWD and maybe 55HP LOL

Sarah: What first caught your attention about drifting?

Jerome: I used to drift when i was younger, 15 years old but i didn’t know this word, i just enjoyed this feeling. The really first time on asphalte(tar) with RWD was with a BMW 320i stock on a go kart track.

Sarah: What age were you then?

Jerome: I was 32 years old, in 2006. Wow

Sarah: What made you think, I could actually do that?

Jerome: It was not so easy but so much fun!

Sarah: What was your first proper competition car?

Jerome:For drifting, my first one was a M3 BMW 3L .

Sarah: Why did you pick the car that you have now?

Jerome: I still have my PS13 RB25, but now i used to change cars depending partners and opportunities so I try to do my best with every cars

Sarah: So you've been a spectator and a competitor. Has it good side bad sides etc?

Jerome: When i organize the French series, it is really difficult because i just want to go on track with my friends. I definitely prefer to drive !

Sarah: Best aspect of drifting for you personally?

Jerome: Everything is possible in drifting ! Be safe with your equipment and do what you want ! Chassis, engines, tires, colors just select what you want.

Sarah: One thing you could change about drifting what would it be?

Jerome: Nothing, it is a really young sport and it is changing every year, every race, it is able to change alone

Sarah: Whose you best friend(s) you've made through drifting? Why?

Jerome: So many ! This is an incredible feeling to ride with guys from all around the world, but I am in love since my first race in Mondello with THE IRISH FIGHTING SPIRIT. Irish Drivers are amazing and so good.

Sarah: Have you got any advise for anyone wanting to get into drifting?

Jerome: Just do it ! on the XBOX or in real if you have enough money. Start with small car, small engine then step by step. Skill is more important money !

Sarah: Are you glad/happy you got into drifting? Why?

Jerome: I am super happy, i hat a lot of experiences, traveled a lot and met incredible people.

Sarah: One thing you hate about drifting from any aspect of it?

Jerome: Ah ah i just hate to wait the next session or the next race !

Sarah: Tell us a random fact about your drifting career to date?

Jerome: I have so many to tell you… The most important is to have fun and when i go to drift with my dad 64 years old, i have a lot of fun. I hope to drive with my kids for a long time.

Sarah: You have drifted and battled with some world famous drifters, who was the best and why?

Jerome: Really difficult question. So many good drivers… But it’s true to say that actually James Dean is on the top.

Sarah: If you could meet or battle against one other famous world known drifter who would it be and why?

Jerome: I already met and battled a lot. I would like a battle with David Egan because we have the same job, the same passion. A battle between promoters could be fun.

Sarah: Endless amount of money for a new car and build what would it be and why?

Jerome: Flat 6 is amazing, Porsche is in my heart, I would like a Porsche like a GT3 Cup « Drift »…

Sarah: When it's time for retirement what do you want to be remembered for in the drifting world?

Jerome: Retirement, i don’t understand this word sorry… I will never stop !

Big thanks to Jerome for this interview, also to the photographers for their pictures.
